Advent is here!

Grace to you and peace in Jesus Christ our Lord!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Presbyterian Church of East Stroudsburg. Lights have been hung on the trees outside the entrance to the church. Tomorrow the congregation celebrates “Hanging of the Greens”. Chrismon trees will be decorated, garland will be strung, and there will be wreaths and bows galore! Our Advent dinner will be at 2 pm, a wonderful feast. You may even hear a Christmas carol or two.

On Sunday the 14th our children will bring us a Christmas greeting in song and pageantry.  On the 21st the choir will move us with their cantata.  And on Christmas Eve our 7:30 Worship service will be rich in scripture, carols, candlelight and Holy Communion.

Have I mentioned presents? Numerous mission endeavors are taking place. A Brighter Christmas, Operation Christmas Child, Path … There are boxes and presents everywhere!

Oh, yes, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. In all this beauty, decoration, fellowship, worship and pageantry, please let us remember this important thing:  Let us remember to welcome the Bethlehem Babe, Jesus the Christ, into our hearts, kneel before Him and worship Him.  He alone is Christ the Lord!  God bless you this Advent and Christmas!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  “Rev”
